Star Festival

During this period, an annual event is ongoing!

It is called Kyoto star festival illuminating some spots in Kyoto.


One is held along Horikawa River, the river itself or Nijo castle were artistically lit up and decorated with lots of color.

Another is held along Kamogawa River, the river all way through around downtown is lit up and decorated with beauty.

At both spots, the exhibition is held as well as above.
It is from August 2 to 11.

この時期京都では、京の七夕が開催されています！

堀川会場では、堀川そのものや二条城などが芸術的、かつカラフルにライトアップ、デコレートされています。

賀茂川会場では、繁華街近くの川沿いがきれいにライトアップ、デコレートされてます。

８月２日から１１日まで開催されております。

また、両会場にて展示会も行われていますので、京都にこられる方は是非いってみてください！

New property, Koto-An

Hello, everyone!

Today, we announce that we opened Koto-An, one property rental service.

It is suitable for families, a big group, or even couples on the special occasion.
This does not mean it is restricted for those people.

We are always willing to have all of you, so please contact us at the first place.

To briefly explain you, 3 bedrooms, 2 toilets, a bathroom, kitchen, living room, and some amenity are set for your party.

Its structure is a traditional one, Machiya, and two stories.

It must be perfect to feel Kyoto life and chill out.

本日は発表があります。
この度、私どもは新しい町屋の施設として古都庵をオープンしました。

こちらは、一棟貸しでのサービスになりまして、主に家族、大人数の方、もしくは特別な機会にカップルでのご利用に最適かと思います。
当然これらの方限定ということではありませんので、まずはお気軽にご連絡ください。

簡単にご説明いたしますと、寝室３部屋、トイレ２つ、バスルーム、キッチン、リビングに加えていくつかのアメニティ－をそのグループの方のみでお使いいただけます。

町屋で２階建てになります。

休日をくつろいでいただくには最高だと思います。

Star Festival

July 7 is the Star Festival which is one of the important event in Japan. 
The attached photo is one of our guests making her wish!

Originally, this festival bases on the Chinese legend of two stars; Altair and Vega. Vega, a weaving girl, and Altair, a cowherd boy, they are both hard-working.

However, once they got seeing each other, they discontinued working. 

This led to lose the temper of Vega's father... Due to it, he prohibited them from meeting-up by separating by the Milky way.

After that, they reformed their mind and decided to work hard again! It succeeded in changing father's mind and getting together again! It was just once a year, though.. From that story, people began to celebrate their reunion by decorating the bamboo branches with some paper stripes and ornaments.

On top of that, it is believed that the wish comes true if you write it on the paper stripes and hang it on the bamboo. 

So now, let's get some pens and papers to make your hope come true! 

７月７日は七夕です。
添付写真は、願い事を書いてくれた私どものお客様のひとりです！

もともとこの行事は、中国の二つ星の伝説（ヴェガとアルテア）に由来しています。　ヴェガは織物、アルテアは牛の世話をして、とても熱心に働いていました。

しかし、一度二人が出会うことによって、仕事をすることをやめてしまいました。　それによって、激怒したヴェガの父親が二人が会うことと禁じ、天の川で二人を二分してしまいました。

二人は、改心しもう一度一生懸命に働くことを決め、一年に一度だけですが父から再開の許しを得ることがでました。　このことより、人々は短冊に紙や飾りを施すようになりました。

そして、その紙に書いた願い事が叶うということで今でも多くの人々がこの日に短冊に願い事を書いた紙などを飾ることが恒例になっています。
みなさん、知っていましたか―？　みなさんも私たちのように短冊に願いをのせて見せませんか！？

Gion Festival

The biggest festival in Kyoto , Gion Festival, is held soon.

We have loads of visitors in this season every year.
This is defenitely a must-see event in Kyoto!

Basically, you can enjoy its atmosphere with a number of stalls.

As a histrical aspect, march will be done with carrying some mobile shrines.
This is actually remarkable point of this festival.

It is ongoing from July 14 to 16.
On 17, the march is held.

京都最大の祭、祇園祭、が間もなく開催されます。

毎年多くの方にお越し頂いております。
間違いなく、チェック必須の祭です！

基本的には、みなさん屋台や雰囲気を楽しんで頂けますが、歴史的なものとして巡行を見て頂けることからも人気の理由のひとつかと思います。

今年は、７月１４日から１６日での開催です。
巡行のみは１７日での開催になります。

Kyoto Antique Grand Fair

It is known that Kyoto is the old capital city.
Due to that, we succeeded in the conservation of many traditional aspects such as temples, towns-cape, or cultures.

We have a big event coming up through June 20 to 22.
It is Kyoto Antique Grand Fair.

As you can tell from the title, it is one for selling antiques.

Over 300 antique dealers are taking place in this enchanting event and more than 1.5 million items are on offer.

This is the largest antique market in western Japan.
So it might be a great opportunity to grab one for those who are into these things.

Opening hour: 10 am - 17 pm
Access: Subway Karasuma Line getting off at Takeda stn
Venue: Pulse Plaza

３００以上もの出展者が集い、1500万以上ものアンティークアイテムが出店されます。
西日本最大のアンティークマーケットということですので、アンティーク好きにはもってこいのイベントかと思います。

YUKA&KAWADOKO - Outdoor riverside dinner/lunch

In Japan, the weather or temperature had been so unstable this spring as well as the last year.
We suppose many people was suffering from the gap of temperature or cold, due to that.

We have finally got the warm spring here.
The cherry blossom season is already done, but there is a upcoming event you should be in.

In kyoto, many restaurants beside the river offer a seasonal event called Kawadoko/Yukadoko which we are able to eat some food at terrace. 
Meaning you can enjoy Kyoto food and stunning view simultaneously.

We strongly recommend it, since It is held only from May to the end of September.

On top of that, we can do it at lunch time only in May and September.
That is to say, mostly it's at night, though both are fantasitic.

If you were grabbed your attention, why not going there!?

今年の春は昨年に似て、気候がとても不安定でしたね。
 温度差や風邪に困られた方も多いかと思います。

やっと、春らしく暖かくなってきました。
桜は終わってしまいましたが、これからもチェックしてほしいイベントがあります！

京都では、川沿いの多くのレストランにて川床を体験して頂けます。
京都の食べ物、落ち着いた雰囲気を同時に楽しんでいただくことができます。

５月から９月の間だけの営業となりまして、またランチサービスは５月と９月のみになります。
