Kitano-Odori (Maiko and Geiko dancing)

Kitano Odori is held at Kamishichiken Kaburenjo from March 25 to April 7.
Performance time is twice, 13:30 pm and 16:00.

This is the event that you can see Maiko and Geiko dancing.
It has been held since 1952, so is really traditional and authentic one.

From that point, this is a must-see event rather than worthy one to have a look.

Concerning the tickets, it costs you 4500 yen/person (with Mattcha Green tea).
You can purchase it from 3 days before.

Regarding the access, you can take a bus no.50, get off at "Kamishichiken", and walk there.

北野踊りが、上七軒歌舞錬場にて３月２５日から４月７日まで開催されます。
公演時間は、１３：３０と１６：００になります。

この行事では、舞妓や芸妓による伝統的な舞がご覧になれます。
１９５２年より続く文字通り伝統的な行事となっておりますのでご覧になられてはいかがでしょう！

チケットはお一人様４５００円にて購入可能です。（抹茶付）
当日の３日前から購入可能ですので併せて確認下さい。

また、アクセスにつきましては、市バスの50番に乗車、"上七軒"にて下車して頂きますと、徒歩ですぐとなります。

March 6 was our guest from Hongkong, Elena's birthday. 

Her friend, Manyee, bought a cake and we ate them together in our common area

Hanatouro - Special illumination event

Hanatouro is held from March 14 to 23 in Higashiyama district, Kyoto.

Loads of temples, shrines, or paths are illuminated with enchanting lights.
This is one of must-see events in Kyoto.

We are sure that you can feel the beauty of Japan with a traditional atmosphere of Kyoto.

The illumination hour is from 6 pm to 9:30 pm.
You can have a visit the website of Hanatouro and decide your preferable place since it is illuminated throughout Higashiyama district.

東山花灯路が３月１４日から２３日まで開催されます。

東山の多くの寺や寺院、道にてイルミネーション行われます。
京都の見とくべきイベントの一つだと思います。

京都の雰囲気をきれいなイルミネーションと楽しんで頂けることかと思います。

点灯時間は夜の６時から９時半までとなっています。
東山全体で行われていますので、行かれる前にどこへ行きたいかサイトで調べてみてください。

この時期に京都へお越しの方は、こちらもやることリストへ追加してみてはいかがでしょう。

Baika Festival

Baika Festval is held on 25th of February in Kitano Tenmanguas shrine an annual event!
This one is originated from representing a respect for Michizane Sugawara, a deity of study.
So it is taken place on his death-day every year.

There are some events such as a plum-viewing, huge open-air tea ceremony by a geisha or maiko, or special opening.
For taking part in this open-air tea ceremony, you need to purchase the advanced ticket.
It is already on sale, from January 25, and limited to the first 3000 reserved people.
If you would like to go for that, we guess that you need to be in a hurry for that.

For the other ones, you do not need to get some tickets in advance.

今年も北野天満宮にて、２月２５日に梅花祭が行われます。
もとは学問の神として知られる菅原道真の命日に、彼を称えるものとして始まりました。

梅の花が見れたり、舞妓さんによる野点や特別公開のようなものもあるようです。
野点に参加するには、先着３０００名様限定の件を前もって購入する必要があり、１月２５日より販売されておりますのでお求めの方は至急問い合わせが必要かと思います。

アクセス方法は、市バスの５０番に乗車し、北野天満宮前で下車して頂ければ大丈夫です。

The end of this year

We are approaching the end of this year day by day.

How was this year for you?
Magnificent?　Good? Not bad? Not good?
It must be really different depending on people.
We hope each of you had an awesome one:)

What are you up for New Year?
Count down somewhere nice, enjoy with your friends, or chill out at home.
There are lots of things, we guess.
In Japan, we go to temples or shrines to prey for the following year.
Since Kyoto has many temples or shrines, we have tons of people coming for that.
It must be squeezy at some spots, but it is definitely worthy to feel Japanese New year.
So if you visit Kyoto or somewhere in Japan, please try it for your experience;)
